Entresto 200mg is an oral angiotensin receptor–neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) that combines two active ingredients: sacubitril and valsartan.
This medication is approved for the treatment of adult patients with symptomatic chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction.
Its pharmacological mechanism works through a dual pathway: inhibiting neprilysin to enhance the protective effects of the natriuretic peptide system, while blocking angiotensin II receptors to suppress the harmful effects of the RAAS system. This helps reduce cardiac workload and neurohormonal effects, and assists in lowering the risk of cardiovascular death and hospitalisation due to heart failure.
