How to Use Dermovate Scalp Application 0.05%Carefully apply the liquid to the affected areas of the scalp using the nozzle of the bottle. You may gently rub the liquid into the scalp if needed, then leave it to dry naturally. Do not wash your hair immediately after application, as this may wash away the medicine. If you need to wash your hair, do so before applying Dermovate Scalp Application 0.05%.
Avoid letting the medicine run onto your face or into your eyes. If accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with cold water. Do not apply this medicine to other areas of the skin.
Wash your hands immediately after applying the product to the scalp to avoid accidentally transferring the medicine to other areas.
It is usually applied once or twice daily. Once the condition begins to improve, follow your doctor’s instructions on how to continue or reduce treatment.
If your scalp does not improve after 2 to 4 weeks of treatment, consult your doctor.
Repeated courses of treatment may be needed to control flare-ups of psoriasis or eczema, but this should only be done according to your doctor’s advice.
Important Safety InformationDermovate Scalp Application contains flammable alcohol. Do not use it near naked flames, lit objects, gas or electric fires, lit cigarettes, hairdryers, or other sources of heat.This medicine is for external use on the scalp only. It should not be used on the face or any other part of the body. Apply a thin layer of the liquid to the affected areas of the scalp.If topical corticosteroids are used for a long period of time, over large areas of skin, or on broken skin, the medicine may be absorbed into the body. This may increase the risk of local side effects, such as skin thinning, as well as effects on other parts of the body, such as reduced natural hormone production by the adrenal glands.Therefore, continuous long-term use of this medicine should be avoided where possible, especially in children and on large areas of skin.Only cover the treated area if instructed by your doctor. If you still need to use this medicine after 2 to 4 weeks because your skin has not improved, consult your doctor. If used in children, treatment should usually not exceed 5 to 7 days.If you think the area of skin being treated has become infected, stop using this medicine and consult your doctor.Do Not Use Dermovate Scalp Application In:Children under 1 year of age
Viral skin infections, such as chickenpox or shingles
Fungal skin infections, such as ringworm
Bacterial skin infections, such as impetigo
Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to clobetasol propionate or any of the ingredients. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have previously experienced an allergic reaction to this medicine. If you think you are having an allergic reaction, stop using it and inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately.Use With Caution In:Children
Patients with psoriasis
If you are using this medicine to treat psoriasis, you should have regular follow-ups with your doctor. Although corticosteroids may be useful for psoriasis in the short term, they can sometimes worsen the condition and may trigger generalised pustular psoriasis after treatment is stopped.Certain medicines should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
